What Cloze keeps
Cloze has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your code runs in your browser and is never sent to us.
What is kept about your practice
When you are signed in, each solved Check is kept as one record: the problem, language and level, how it went (clean, with a hint, or with a gap shown), how many Checks it took, how long, and when. It never includes what you typed. Your stars, XP, rank and reviews are worked out from these records. Signed out, nothing is kept.
In the extension
The extension keeps three things in your browser's extension storage: the language you chose, the key this website gave the browser when you signed in, and the solved Checks the website could not be told about yet, to send when it can be reached. You sign in on this website, in the browser's own window, so your password is never typed into the extension. It asks for no access to any site, and never reads the pages beside it. Sign out in the extension removes the key and anything waiting, and each browser you have connected can also be ended from your account page.
Practising on this website
The practice panel on each problem's page runs your code in your browser, as the extension does, and only sends how a Check went. It remembers the language you chose in your browser's own storage.
On this website
You do not need an account to read it. If you create one, we keep:
- your name and email address;
- your password, only as a hash, so we cannot read it;
- a record of each browser you are signed in on: when, its type and its IP address.
Our server's logs also record each request with its IP address. We send you email to confirm your address and to reset your password, through Resend, which delivers it for us.
Deleting it
Delete account on your account page removes your name, address and sessions at once. It asks for your password first.
